I'm an electrical engineer student at CalTech. I love it here! I can play with robotics. I can make stupid little sensors. I'm toying with modifying existing electronic devices. Nothing tiny like mp3 players, that's a separate specialization. I'm more into larger things, like radios, windup motors, and "other" powered devices; kinetic energy (turbines included), solar powered. Speaking of radios, I'm getting into ham radios. It's nice to know that someone out there is as enthusiastic of a niche hobby as you are.
Someone said, "If you love what you do, you don't ever work a day in your life". I'm turning my hobby of electronics into a career. It's my 3rd year, so all the general degree requirements are mostly out of the way. Means more time for EE degree courses! I'm excited with next year's coursework, entirely devoted to EE.
It's gonna be killer!
